Home » Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix Explain Filming Delay on Vanderpump Rules Season 9 After SUR Restaurant Reopens Its Doors
Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix may not be filming the upcoming season of Vanderpump Rules quite yet but they want their loyal fans to know that more episodes are most likely on the way.
Weeks after Andy Cohen teased Watch What Happens Live viewers last month about the potential ninth season of the reality show, Sandoval is explaining why he and his cast mates have not yet begun production.
“Obviously, they want to do another season and they have every plan and intention of doing that, but it’s just because of the industry that we’re in… They don’t want to see us just like sitting in our houses,” Sandoval explained during an interview with Page Six on March 4.
While SUR Restaurant, where Pump Rules was launched, recently re-opened its doors to patrons for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, Ariana Madix said that when it comes to filming precautions related to COVID-19, nothing has been nailed down quite yet.
“We’re kind of just waiting and seeing,” she said, noting that she and Sandoval want “everyone to be safe” when filming on season nine begins.
Last month, during an episode of the WWHL: After Show, Andy responded to a fan on video, who wanted an update on the new season of Pump Rules.
“What is happening with Vanderpump Rules?” the fan asked during the February 21 episode.
“Well, nothing because the restaurants in L.A. are not open,” Andy replied. “Hopefully once L.A. opens up, they’ll start rolling. I hope… with everybody who’s still on the show.”
As fans well know, Bravo cut ties with Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni in June 2020 after they were accused of racist behavior. Then, in December, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright confirmed they would not be included on the new season either.
