Shannon Beador Claims Braunwyn Windham-Burke Admitted to Lying to Get Cast on RHOC

Shannon Beador claims Braunwyn Windham-Burke lied her way onto the Real Housewives of Orange County cast.
While explaining why many cast members believe Braunwyn came forward as an alcoholic and a lesbian for a storyline, Shannon suggested the mother of seven had come clean to the cast regarding her past lies about being an author and having a “love shack” and reacted to Gina Kirschenheiter‘s comments about her relationship with John Janssen.
“I don’t know if I can say this but after last season, Braunwyn told many of the cast members that her first season, like all the stuff about her wasn’t true,” Shannon revealed during an appearance on the Daily Blast Live. “She did it just to get on the show.”
“She wasn’t an author. That love shack thing was just a bunch of B.S. And we were like, ‘What? Then who are you?’ Because that’s who everyone thought that you were,” Shannon continued. “That’s why knowing that and having her say that to us and then having all these things happen when we’re filming and all this stuff is going on, you start to think.”
Following the interview, Kelly Dodd seemingly confirmed Shannon’s statements were correct by re-tweeting the interview on her own page.

In another interview, Shannon said that while she did call Gina to talk about the hardships she was facing in her relationship with John, she did so just once.
“I did call Gina because I thought she was one of my closest friends at the time,” Shannon recalled to Daryn Carp on Reality Check, via Yahoo!. “It was the night where John’s son, I said, ‘You need to go,’ and then John went with him. It was the very beginning of COVID and.. I thought he was never going to be able to come back.”
According to Shannon, she was devastated at the time because she was used to seeing John every day. Either way, she did not feel that Gina was genuinely concerned about her.
“If you’re so concerned, why are you talking about me months later to the cast on camera? Because you can’t think of anything else to talk about? If you’re so concerned, call me,” she said.
Shannon went on to say that when it came to season 15 of RHOC, her relationship with John struggled due to the pandemic.
“John and I definitely experienced a lot of bumps. When you come from such a tumultuous marriage as I did and then… to finally be with someone who’s so supportive of you and the exact opposite of everything that you had, I literally thought I was Julia Roberts and this is my fairytale. But that’s not life and that wasn’t realistic for me to think that way,” she admitted.
“COVID, it was devastating to me because I thought, ‘We’re not going to argue ever. We’re never going to have any issues.’ And we did,” she added. “And you know what? I’m sure Gina and [Travis Mullen] had issues. [But] I was the one brave enough to talk about it.”
Also during her interview on Reality Check, Shannon said that producers of RHOC love to spotlight her zany side.
“I’ll film one-hour being [a] normal, even-keel person and then I go, ‘What?!’ And that’s the one thing they’re going to show and then there’s wacky Shannon who’s crying and whining all the time,” she noted.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 15 reunion begins airing next Wednesday, January 20, at 9/8c on Bravo.
