Selling Sunset Star Chrishell Stause and Ex Husband Justin Hartley Reach Divorce Settlement
- Chrishell Stause and estranged husband Justin Hartley have reached settled the details of their divorce , as confirmed by E! News on Wednesday
- Hartley filed for divorce from Stause in November of 2019, after just two years of marriage
- According to the outlet, the pair's 'confidential divorce settlement' includes 'terms of divorce as well as spousal support'
Chrishell Stause and husband Justin Hartley split in November of 2019 after just two years of marriage. It was confirmed on Wednesday that the estranged couple had finally settled the terms of their divorce, according to E! News.
‘Chrishell and Justin have reached a confidential divorce settlement, which includes terms of divorce as well as spousal support, and details of the settlement have not been made public,’ the outlet explained.
News of the pair’s settlement comes over a year after Hartley, 43, famously filed for divorce from Chrishell, which came as a total surprise to the 39-year-old Selling Sunset star. The This Is Us actor cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the divorce filing and claimed he and Chrishell had been separated since July 8, 2019, despite the pair being seen together on several occasions after that specific date.
In her response filing, Stause listed the ‘date of separation’ as November 22, 2019, which contradicted the July separation stated by Hartley.
On her Netflix reality series, the Days of Our Lives actress claimed Justin informed her of his intent to divorce via text message, just 45 minutes before the heartbreaking news was made public.
‘I found out because he text[ed] me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew,’ said Chrishell as she recalled the devastation on the third season of Selling Sunset. She went on to stress that ‘forty-five minutes’ was not enough time to prepare for the onslaught of questions they were bound to receive from their mutual fans.
‘Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers, and I f***ing want answers. I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it’s like, we were together for six years,’ she explained passionately.
She also referred to Justin’s divorce filing as an ‘impulsive’ decision and that he would often use the same ‘I’m out’ approach during fights they had in the past.
‘In a fight, that’s [Justin’s] go-to, you know? Like, “I’m out, I’m out.” I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, you know, that’s just an issue that we work through it.
‘If that’s really what you wanted, there are better ways to go about [it]. I talked to him right after because I thought that must be a joke, but that was kind of the end of the communication.
‘What am I supposed to say? What do you say after that? It’s like, now I have to find a place to live. Now I have to scramble and figure this out, you know?’ she concluded.
Though the divorce has undoubtedly been a difficult time for both of them, Chrishell and Justin have each entered into relationships in recent months. Following her stint on Dancing With The Stars, Stause entered into a relationship with professional dancer Keo Motsepe, 31, who was partnered with actress Anne Heche for the season.
Keo supposably pursued Chrishell during the course of the celebrity competition series, often relying on the star’s pro partner Gleb Savchenko, 37, to send hints her way.
In a sweet post uploaded to Instagram on December 3, Stause confirmed that her and Motsepe had decided to take a stab at love. And things appear to be going well, with the couple having just returned from a getaway to Mexico in late December.
Hartley went Instagram official with girlfriend of eight months Sofia Pernas, 31, on New Years Eve as he posted a selfie with the caption, ‘Last minutes of 2020 here in LA. Bring on 2021! Happy New Year!’ The pair first met on the set of Young And The Restless in 2015 and remained friends afterwards, only taking their relationship to the next level when Hartley and Stause called it quits.
Justin was also previously married to soap star Lindsay Hartley, 42, whom he split from in 2012 and shares a 16-year-old daughter with.
