Lisa Vanderpump’s PUMP is “Not Shutting Down” for Good But Will Temporarily Close Due to New Restrictions in Los Angeles

Lisa Vanderpump sparked concern for the potential closure of PUMP Restaurant earlier this week on Twitter but luckily, despite suspicious photos that surfaced outside of the restaurant and a statement about her staff, the venue is not shutting down permanently.

After a rental company was spotted outside of the West Hollywood hotspot, a source has confirmed that while the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member has no immediate plans to close the restaurant for good, PUMP, along with SUR Restaurant, will no longer be offering in-person dining.

Pump is “not shutting down” anytime soon, an insider confirmed to Us Weekly on Wednesday, November 25.

“The restaurant has been putting up tarp and coverings to prepare for the rain that usually comes in this time of the year. They are moving tables around to be able to keep patrons six feet apart with the outdoor dining,” the source explained of why the rental company was seen altering the venue days ago.

Although PUMP and SUR recently re-opened their doors following a months-long shutdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, new restrictions were recently announced in Los Angeles, which ban restaurants and other venues from hosting patrons both indoors and outdoors.

“Pump and SUR are closing starting Wednesday due to the Los Angeles County restrictions of restaurants, breweries, wineries and bars for at least three weeks amid the surge of coronavirus cases,” the insider continued.

Earlier this month, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that 41 of the state’s 58 counties would be under strict lockdown orders from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and said the orders will remain in place for at least three weeks.

As RHOBH fans may have seen, Lisa called out the governor on her Twitter page after he was seen dining mask-less with several others at a restaurant in Napa Valley.

“Don’t do as I do, do as I say,” Lisa tweeted angrily at her state leader.

Lisa also gave a nod to the many people who have lost paychecks amid the ongoing pandemic by sharing a re-tweet from a fan, who pointed out that Gavin experienced no change in income.

“He still gets paid during a lockdown,” the re-tweet read.

As for the future of Vanderpump Rules, the source noted that there was still “no update” regarding the series’ potentially upcoming ninth season.
