Home » Gizelle Bryant Reveals She Hasn’t Spoken to Karen Huger in Almost a Year on Candid Podcast With Lala Kent
Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger have been at odds in the past, but after season 5 of The Real Housewives of Potomac wrapped, things went seriously downhill.
In a new interview, the RHOP star discussed her friendship with frenemy Karen, hinting at the relationship’s more “enemy” than “friend” current status. The two are known to go back-and-forth with each other in shady, yet playful ways, however, Gizelle reveals how the pair is currently not on speaking terms since the cameras stopped rolling.
“We ebb and flow this season as we normally do, however, I don’t particularly like the way we ended the season, so I straight up have not spoken to her since we stopped filming,” Gizelle shared on the August 26 episode of the Give Them Lala … And Randall podcast.
When podcast host and Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent prodded about the details of the fallout, Gizelle had to stay vague for the purposes of keeping show secrets but noted “respect” as the reason for the conflict.
“It dealt with respect, and I felt like she disrespected me, and that’s what I don’t tolerate,” she stated. “And especially when you’re on a show together. She knows personal things that have been off-camera about me and me [that] I know about her that we’ll never cross the line and kinda like, be disrespectful on camera with it. I just felt like there’s a level of respect for our friendship that she disregarded and I don’t like that.”
“So you feel like she went into a territory that was supposed to be left off-camera?” Lala asked.
“No, she didn’t do that, but she just didn’t ride for me like I have ridden for her,” Gizelle stated, teasing some upcoming drama between the two RHOP OGs.
Fans of the show will have to stay tuned to see what kind of conflict goes down between Karen and Gizelle, but in this week’s upcoming episode, Karen is already facing some conflict with newcomer, Wendy Osefo.
In the preview clip, the ladies are gathered at Monique Samuels‘ lake house, and Karen prompts Wendy to bring her grievances to the table — literally.
As the clip goes on, Wendy explains how she’s always felt strangely slighted by Karen, and truly wonders why that is. The show even flashes back to a moment between the women when Wendy kindly greeted Karen at an event and the 57-year-old clearly brushed her off, briefly saying, “Hi Wendy,” before immediately turning around to another friend.
“I said it to you, and I’ll say it in front of everybody: I don’t know you!” Karen shares. “This is the first time we’ve sat down for more than five minutes!”
“Ka-ren!” Wendy sarcastically claps in her confessional, “We sit on the board together and we’re on the same sub-committee of the damn board! There are five people on the sub-committee, Karen! Ka-ren!”
After pausing for a hilariously long moment, Wendy snidely quips, “That’s why I don’t mess with her.”
The ladies ultimately end their confrontation peacefully, deciding on dinner together at a future time.
