Home » Garcelle Beauvais Reveals Where She Stands With Kyle Richards After Discussing “Race Issues”
Garcelle Beauvais is spilling a little tea and revealing what fans can expect when it comes to her relationship with Kyle Richards in the upcoming season.
Garcelle and Kyle didn’t end season 10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on the best of terms, and apparently, they were still dealing with that beef as they filmed season 11.
If fans recall, Garcelle pledged $5,000 to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles at a charity event hosted by Kyle. Then, at the reunion, Kyle accused her co-star of stiffing the charity, but a shocked Garcelle claimed the payment must have “fell through the cracks.” Though both later confirmed that payment had been received, it seems that all was not well for a while.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the Coming 2 America actress revealed that she and Kyle have made amends after putting in some work.
“We had a really great time this season once we got through our stuff,” she told host Andy Cohen.
It seems that Garcelle has just revealed what that “stuff” actually was. In a new interview with Vulture, she explained how their relationship improved while filming season 11 and what sparked the change.
“I think what changed is sometimes you have to have the conversations that are tough,” she said. “If you turn on any news, any talk show, anything right now, all of them have talked about race issues. I think whenever you have those difficult conversations, it can either go one of two ways: It can either go that [the] relationship is severed and you both don’t get each other, or you were able to get past it and actually have a deeper conversation and maybe something important came out of it.”
The star then went on to confirm that she and Kyle did have those serious conversations regarding “race in America,” and she explained to Kyle how damaging the charity accusation was for her. Although Garcelle wasn’t able to elaborate too much, it seems the conversation went well since they wound up having a “great time” filming together.
“Oh, yeah. I don’t know how much I can say, but I think her calling me out for not paying for the charity was definitely something that she weaponized,” she declared. “We can watch it on the show — I’m not allowed to really talk about it. But it was along the lines of certain things you say to people, and that was just a low blow.”
It’s unclear if Garcelle had similar conversations with any of her other co-stars, but she’s stated in the past that the ladies were “coming for [her]” this season.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in late spring or summer.
